Estonia: startup grant da €15.000 e servizi di accelerazione

Opportunità per avviare una startup in Estonia.

L’Estonia è un paese ideale per avviare e validare un progetto di startup basato sul digitale. Alcuni casi di successo internazionale (uno fra tutti Skype), la vicinanza culturale e geografica alla Finlandia (1 h di aliscafo), la presenza di programmi di accelerazione di alto livello ( gamefounders) e la possibilità di ricevere la cittadinanza digitale in tempi brevissimi, hanno contribuito a creare un ottimo ecosistema locale.

Collaborando da alcuni anni con partner locali su progetti di R&D, abbiamo avuto modo di verificare direttamente le competenze dei team di ricerca coinvolti e di assistere ad un processo di crescita velocissimo.

L’Estonia mette inoltre a disposizione di team che vogliano avviare un’attività di startup strumenti finanziati dalla Commissione Europea attraverso grant (€15.000) ed un percorso di accelerazione.

Startup grant (public grant)

Goal: Help a start-up entrepreneur launch their company according to their business plan and reach the desired goals.

Grant: €15.000 (support 80% of cost)

Conditions:

  • The company has been operating for up to 24 months.
  • There is no connection with other companies of the same field.
  • The share of a legal person in the company may not exceed 25%.
  • Aimed at internationalisation or creating new jobs, if the company is operating in the urban area of Tallinn or in Tartu.
  • Aimed at creating new jobs, if the company is operating outside of the urban area of Tallinn or outside of Tartu.
  • The company has not previously received start-up and/or growth support from Enterprise Estonia.
  • The company’s shareholders have not previously received support from Töötukassa (Unemployment Insurance Fund of Estonia) for activities in the same field.
  • De minimis aid of the company does not exceed 200,000 euros.
  • The sales revenue of the company must reach 80,000 euros by the end of its third operating year.
  • The company is required to create two new jobs, where employees will receive a gross monthly wage that makes up at least 70% of the national average year gross wages (currently 745.5 euros according to Statistics Estonia).
  • The capacity of at least 20% of annual growth.

Activities supported:

  • Acquisition of fixed material assets.
  • Transport, configuration and installation.
  • Marketing.
  • Acquisition or development of application software.
  • Personnel costs.

Startup Estonia (Acceleration program)

The activities of the programme are divided as follows:

  • Developing the Estonian startup ecosystem (e.g. community meetings, website etc.)
  • Educated and talented people – enhancing the knowledge and skills of startup founders and employees that keeps them achieving their business goals and building global businesses.
  • Smart capital – the programme aims to attract foreign investors to Estonia and works on educating local investors to help them invest more and smarter ways.
  • Eliminating regulative issues and barriers and staying for the interest of various parties of local startup ecosystem.
